Credentials required: The applicant should have Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination, Basic cardiac life support (BCLS), First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Nursing or convalescent home

Registered Nursing Assistant Specific Skills: Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Distribute medication to patients, Change patients’ dressings, Bathe and dress patients

Additional Skills: Monitor patients’ progress and report any changes

Security and Safety: Criminal record check

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Walking

Essential Skills: Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing

Languages: Other than English, the applicant should speak French.
