Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate.

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness

Additional Skills: Handle inquiries from customers

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border
